The Gospel of John begins with a Hymn to the Word which identifies Jesus as the Logos and the Logos as divine. The translation of last four words of John (θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος) has been a particular topic of debate in Western debate mostly centers over the usage of the article ὁ within the clause, where some have argued that the absence of the article before.

In The Transforming Power of the Gospel (), bridges discusses how growth in holiness is deeply rooted in the Gospel and he seems to be close to the right balance between God's grace and personal responsibility, in my by: 4.

The book of Romans outlines for us what the Apostle Paul calls "the gospel of God." This gospel is not simply about God; it belongs to God.

The gospel is God's design. It was not the product of Paul's ingenuity or of any other Apostle or prophet. God alone is the author and goal of the gospel.

The same God who spoke the world into existence by the word of His power is at work. Power in 1 and 2 Corinthians: Gospel Preaching and Its Effects Demonstrate the Power of God Arguably, what Paul reveals in his most elongated statement on the gospel is what we also find in 1 and 2 Corinthians and every other letter he writes.

By contrast, Jonathan Edwards would read his sermons word-for-word in a monotonous tone, rarely lifting his head to look at the listeners. In both cases, the results were electrifying as the power of God moved in people’s hearts through the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
